This site will enable you to find out what is happening at the Village Hall - and booking your own event could not be easier!
We welcome enquiries for bookings from prospective user groups within Ticehurst and neighbouring villages. Bookings can be made for parties, conferences, classes, talks etc.
The Village Hall was built in 1899 and is undergoing extensive repairs and improvements.
We need your help to make this possible! We are a Registered Charity and your donations are essential to enable us to complete the renovations.

The Hall
Hall capacity is approximately 140 - theatre style.
Club Lounge
We have the newly refurbished south facing club lounge which is ideal for parties, meetings, group lunches, art classes and similar.
Capacity (depending on layout)
- Lunches around long tables - 60
- Meetings and presentations - 60
Aston Webb Room
Named after the world famous architect who designed the Village Institute in 1899 – Sir Aston Webb.
- Capacity – up to 10 around the main table.
Library
- 2 hours on Tuesdays (10am - 12 noon)
The Bar
We can open the bar for special occasions and parties. This must be pre-booked. We can supply the drinks of your choice or you can supply your own. For rates including staffing please see the Charges section below.
Groups and Activities
The Main Hall, Bar & Lounge or Aston Webb Room are available for hire for Groups and Activities, i.e. Yoga, Tai Chi, Fitness classes etc. For rates please see the Charges section below.
Parties
Post party clearing up! As most people who hire the facilities for special occasions will not want to clear up after the event we can supply a cleaning team at £15 per person per hour. Please speak to John Brooker, our caretaker when booking your party to arrange this. 01580 388527 or 07716 086931.
Charges from April 2025
- Main Hall or Lounge: £16 per room per hour or part thereof. £25 per hour for commercial classes and companies.
- Aston Webb Room: £15 per hour or part thereof.
- Kitchen: FREE when booking any of the rooms
- Childrens Parties: £50 for 4 hours (includes set up and clearing up time)

- Please note that the hourly rate will be charged on the setting up and breaking down time - not just the event.
